But what are crypto purists? 

Cryptocurrencies are often associated with libertarianism and anarcho-capitalism due to their decentralized nature and appeal to those who distrust centralized institutions. However, not all cryptocurrency users or buyers are crypto purists. Many buyers are simply looking to profit from price appreciation and don’t care about the ideological aspects of cryptocurrencies. 

Crypto purists believe that cryptocurrencies should only be used for peer-to-peer transactions and that they should not be used to purchase goods and services. They argue that this would defeat the original purpose of cryptocurrencies, creating a decentralized currency that can be used outside of the traditional financial system. 

However, there is no agreed-upon definition of a “true” cryptocurrency. Some people believe that any currency that a government or financial institution does not back is an actual cryptocurrency. In contrast, others believe that only currencies that use cryptography and are decentralized are actual cryptocurrencies.
