England captain Jos Buttler will miss the third T20 match against Pakistan because his wife is having their third child. The match will be on Tuesday in Cardiff.
Buttler went home to be with his wife after leading England to win by 23 runs in the second game at Edgbaston on Saturday. This win gave England a 1-0 lead in the four-match series after the first game in Leeds was canceled due to rain.
England Cricket said, “Jos Buttler is set to miss our third IT20 match vs Pakistan as his wife Louise is expecting the birth of their third child.”
Moeen Ali will be the captain for England while Buttler is away.
Pakistan needs to win this game to boost their confidence for the T20 World Cup. A victory will keep the series alive and give Pakistan a chance to win it. They lost the last game by 23 runs, and the first game was washed out.
England has not said if Buttler will be back for the final match of the series at The Oval on Thursday.
England will leave for the T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies on Friday. They will play against Australia, Scotland, Oman, and Namibia in Group B.
